Looking at the GitHub issues and reviews for the Android version, there is a common pattern with users being unaware of the engine limitations of the EasyRPG Player.

Part of it seems to be ignorance, the other part might be some UI issue.
For example, the default notice in the game browser ("Newer engines such as ... are not supported") is only shown, when the game directory is empty (or no actual Rm2k(3) games are found).

It might be helpful, if EasyRPG could detect some of the common engine types and explicitly show them in the game browser as unsupported, and maybe even suggest alternatives in some cases.

Some of the commonly seen engines to consider:

  • RPG Maker 95
  • Sim RPG Maker 95
  • RPG Maker XP
  • RPG Maker VX / VX Ace
  • RPG Maker MV / MZ
  • RPG Maker Unite
  • Wolf RPG Editor
  • OHRRPGCE
  • SaveRAMs / Memory Cards for the console RPG Makers
