This maybe another manifest of #552 workarounds are one of:

Don't use back button, instead hit top left hand tick/check-mark button... And wait. Ideally scroll up to force git push
Press back button slowly, with large pauses

I'm right handed and often type with my right thumb. My screen is too large to press the top-left button with my thumb.
