My wireguard conf in docker-compose looks like this

    sysctls:
      - net.ipv4.conf.all.src_valid_mark=1
      - net.ipv4.ip_forward=1

docker exec -it wireguard sysctl -p gives

sysctl: setting key "net.ipv4.ip_forward": Read-only file system
