After installing Sunshine 0.22, I began encountering issues with my streaming devices. The host machine for Sunshine is equipped with an AMD 5900X and an RTX 3090. My primary game is Fallout 76. The client devices include an Nvidia Shield Pro and a laptop with an Nvidia graphics card as well. I prefer not to discuss HDR since it leads to additional disconnections and frequent dropouts with messages indicating that some ports are not open for Moonlight. As a workaround, I've tried streaming at 1080p@60Hz at 30 Mbps without HDR. I have fiber connections in homes located in two different European countries. After launching the game, every 4-5 minutes the screen freezes for 7-8 seconds, although the audio continues uninterrupted. When control responsiveness returns, the screen often (but not always) blinks once and changes resolution. Interestingly, the effect varies: sometimes the screen appears zoomed in within Moonlight (usually if the game is set to 4K and I am streaming at 1080p), other times it's the opposite, with a smaller screen appearing in the upper left corner (if both the game and streaming are set to 1080p), and sometimes the resolution shifts, causing the image to appear compressed from the top and bottom edges, resembling a 16:10 movie with black bars. Exiting and reloading the game temporarily resolves the issue, but the freeze recurs within the next 4-5 minutes. The alternative is to wait it out, which can be feasible if the game is not fast-paced, allowing for a return to the original screen state after the subsequent freeze. Of course, testing all possible combinations isn't feasible, and in this state, the gameplay is unplayable. In the best-case scenario, there's no image stretching, resolution changes, or other disruptions, just a 7-8 second freeze, which of course ruins any gameplay dynamics.
