in-game voice chat gets fucked up a lot, by pretty much anything #1397

Describe the bug (mandatory)

There are many situations in which +voicerecord gets stuck open:

  • When a player is talking and the end of round screen appears
  • When a player is abruptly killed during communication
  • Tuesday
  • When network conditions occur
  • alt+tabbing

When this happens, a player further pressing +voicerecord will not permit communication any more and it will appear their mic is open to themselves, and occasionally, to others -- although no voice can be heard.

To reproduce

  1. Use the in-game voice feature
  2. Let the cruel sands of time run afoul
  3. Voice activity breaks

Expected behavior

The player's voice activity module is only lit up when they speak, and they're able to press and release the button to communicate at their leisure.

Are we able to manually trigger -voicerecord? If so, we should do this on death etc
