Question about video in capability

Hi there. I am familiar with and have some hands on experience with the Geekworm X652 (CM4) and A3 (Pi 4 model B) kits. They work great with the pikvm software.

From that experience I know that their video in capabilities are:

• 1280x720 at 60hz
• 1920x1080 at "50hz"

Both feel like 24/25hz though, but this may just be a limitation of the stream.

I see in the blicube website for BliKVM that it claims to support 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 both at 60hz.

Can I get someone to chime in as to what the actual hardware component for HDMI input being used here is? If it is the same as the geekworm product (tc358743) then I could expect the exact same behavior and functionality.

However if 1920x1200 support is possible on blicube products then I will like to switch over for that reason alone.

I have found a blicube C779 product that uses tc358743. So that means to me that the C790 product is different and I am excited to learn about what its chip is and if 1920x1200 and/or true 60hz are supported. Also please let us know which chip C790 implements.

I can see that unlike the other BliKVMs, the BliKVM HAT does only go to 50hz which is additional evidence that true 60hz may be possible with the newer versions.

I'm back. Got it in the mail today

• good build quality
• biggest issue is the front mount solder pads were not soldered for the SD card reader, so i almost broke it. But I didn't. It still works. The SD card is slightly tilted up, so it does not align with the access hole, and closing the case slightly pushes it in. I will try to fix the solder job myself. Unfortunately this is a big miss with the QA and really hurts because everything else is SUPER high quality.
• provided SD card (i was surprised) is running an old pikvm version which doesnt have good mouse handling from iOS. That's alright, will flash, I guess I got a free SD card.
• No ATX connection splitter included with package, which was disappointing but OK given very competitive price. It's available as a kit and I have already ordered it, but it's a poor experience waiting 2 weeks for this only to find that that thing is missing and having to wait 2 more weeks for it. But I am not interested in custom fabricating any more stupid pin splitters haha so this will do!
• No USB OTG cable included, which is a glaring omission. it's the only cable that is nonstandard that I would expect to be included.

As for the main test I wanted to do, well it reports to linux on the EDID as a Toshiba something or other but it is still limited to 50hz at 1080p ... it does not seem to be any more capable than the other kits I have from geekworm.

EDIT: Ah ok this page explains a lot more about what's going on here. there are more changes. https://wiki.blicube.com/blikvm/en/modify_pikvm_image Clearly it's a chinese project to bring localization and a reskin among other things to pikvm.

So I will need to do some more hacking around.

That said the price is still right. Please have your folks check the sd card reader is soldered on right...
