The problem

The sensor *_connected_devices of the router remains empty after adding an AP.
The *_connected_devices sensor of the AP starts showing the devices connected to the network.
Disabling the AP and reloading the router solves the problem.

Hello. Sorry to hear, you are experiencing issues. Can you please explain a bit more about the topology of your network, so that I can reproduce the issue and fix it.

You have your main router with a part of devices connected to it + an AP connected to the router via cable and having some wireless clients? But this is not in AiMesh mode?

Hi @Vaskivskyi,
Indeed I have a RT-AX88U_Pro which acts as a AiMesh router, x2 TUF-AX5400 and x1 RT-AX88U all 3 acting as AiMesh nodes over 5GHz and x1 RT-AC87U connected via ethernet cable which acts as non-AiMesh AP (it does not support AiMesh).

All devices are on the latest official firmware.

Ok, thanks. I will let you know if any more info is needed from your side

My Connected Devices list is also empty. I have a RT-AX58U ,Tenda O1 outdoor AP, Cisco 2702 AP. But during Connected Devices configuration the List of clients to filter is not empty.

Just to add that if I add the same AP as an AiMesh Node, I don't encounter these issues, but of course I don't see which devices are connected through this AP.

The last version where I could see both sensors showing the number of connected devices was 0.26.0.
The same issue happens if I use Merlin firmware and if i connect the AiMesh nodes over ethernet.
In conclusion the bug is the result of a change introduced in 0.27.0.

It looks like the issue happens only with older devices which don't have AiMesh support.
In this case the device causing the issue is an RT-AC87U on 384.13_10 or 3.0.0.4_382_52545-ga0245cc.

The same as for #783. The issue is in the list of things to be done. It's not forgotten. Unfortunately, the AP support seems to not work correctly in different ways, so I don't know yet whether the whole AP support should be changed or some parts can be fixed independently
