Second import of texture using "Basemap on mesh" is not working #815

Blender and OS versions

Blender 3.4.1 and 3.6 and 3.5 OSX Ventura 13.5

Describe the bug

When I import a second image on the mesh using the Basemap on mesh import it is not updating anything. I have to delete all uv maps and then import again. What I really looking for is adding multiple textures / images on the mesh using this functionality. Could use a higher resolution satellite image on top of a lower resolution for a specific area of interest. Could also be great for loading a tiled texture on a mesh

How to Reproduce

Run the import "Basemap on mesh" twice with different geo tiff images. The first one works as expected while the second one does not show.
