I'm trying to use a raspberry pi camera on Bookworm OS, where is no picamera only picamera2, but the Camera widget don't support picamera2.
I tried to use opencv or gi and I had partial success when I used them with libcamerafy, but the performance was very poor.

Hi @kelenorbert ,

As the picamera2 project looks pretty active, we can plan to have it in 3.0.0 if we find someone who have the opportunity to take care of this provider implementation.

Setting as feature request, if anyone is interested to work on it, please ping me, so we can assign the issue.
