There is an feature request adding biuldpacks.io with kpacks which are configurable with heroku buildpacks.

Kubero Buildpacks are soon renamed to Runpacks.

They are easy extendable with any docker image in your config. I don't know enough about R and how it on s used to do it my self. But I'm happy for any PR to add it to the default config.
