Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. I uploaded a video here : https://mamot.fr/@vincib/112461468870430606
  2. The video has been shot vertically on a Samsung mobile phone. If you download it, and open it with vlc, you see it has been filmed vertically
  3. It appears non-rotated, but cropped horizontally in the browser

Expected behaviour

I expect the video to be shown entirely, not cropped

Actual behaviour

The video is cropped

It's playing vertically for me in Safari directly from the server and in Ivory.

It’s cropped for me in both Safari (viewing directly on original server) and Ivory (via mastodon.online) unless I make it full screen. I see this issue all the time with tons of videos.
