do not work for Ubuntu 22 because there is no python package. Installing:
sudo apt install python-is-python3
enables the installation to proceed. Please could the installation script check that it does in fact have the software it needs to attempt an installation? At the moment the installation proceeds regardless of whether a version of Python is installed or not and then fails with messages that do not make the connection with a lack of Python obvious. Running python --version at the start and checking its response would alleviate this problem.
May I also suggest that you should have a github action to test and demonstrate the installation of mono on Ubuntu 22 as such an action would have uncovered this problem directly?
