Do you have any specific implementation details in mind? I didn't have time to check how ISC handles that but a from the top of my head a few questions arrive:

• When sending DDNS updates, do we need to remove entries for outdated leases as well? I guess so because it's possible to store multiple A records for the same domain name. In that case the plugin will require some kind knowledge on lease history.

• How should we handle configuration changes? Do we even send DDNS updates for static leases or only for dynamic ones? If we differ here the plugins in the chain must somehow be able to decide if an update should be sent or not.

• What about authorization/authentication? Is the shared-key authentication TSIG used by bind enough or should we consider GSS-TSIG (as required by Mircorsoft) as well? I guess we could go with a shared-key TSIG for now.

I'd be happy to add something like this but I guess we should settle some of the details first. Any thoughts?
