[Wishlist] Windows Dark Theme #2641
Comments
No. qBittorrent uses the native widgets/colors and I am not going to make it themable. Do bad that Windows itself doesn't support system themes like Linux does. |
I have same problem, I really need dark theme, |
Lame, love the program but, would love to, like, change a little. Damn it. All these pictures makes me angry. :p |
+1
Lack of a dark theme for qbt keeps me constantly having to pull a big
Square black box over most of the screen so I can still see their progress
but not have my whole bedroom light up like it's morning time.
I know you can scan many of the items in the GUI including the icons and so
forth but if it was simply of way to change the font colors two light grey
or white and change the white parts to Black that would take care of about
90% of the gripes... Sure it still would need a bit more than that.
I am currently working with two different stylish themes 4 Firefox I
haven't checked to see if there's any for Chrome. But stylus let you theme
web pages via CSS... I work in low light at night most of the time, ans
Stylish has dark themes frome everything from TPB to Facebook... Gmail,
whatever, and using CSS. And it's no always just to make a dark thing
sometimes it's just to arrange a site and a way that you find more
appealing simple to do through CSS.
My biggest problem with this is even if I get the Dark theme working on the
web UI for qbittorrent not all of the features I use are there I use a
custom RSS several actually and there's just other things that makes it a
matter of bouncing back and forth between the app I can used and then the
one I got up minimize and bringing the web viewer and the Dark theme.
Over time I've seen many many requests for a dark theme for qbittorrent I'm
not a coder certainly not on the level of being able to jump in and help
with a project like this but I'm very design oriented good with UI/X and
also and very talented with generating graphics, icons, custom font sets,
custom Vector art, and making scalable raster graphics from SVG or
whatever format may be required.
Sorry I got so wordy I was voice dictating.

Yeah I just did quick search through my emails from the forum. I saw #6434
mentioned above, plus #4189, ᚈ to a lesser degree.
But most importantly, *is #5076 doable? *Because that appears to give
most users what they want.
I got plenty more opinions on this topic but I don't know if I'm going
about this in the right way according to the procedure to not only do wish
list like this started out, but to also give input on UX design and
anything else I could be helpful with. However as I'm not a programmer per
se I can get confused with the etiquette to follow on GitHub. Currently for
about the last two years every email that comes into my Gmail account gets
put under the category QT and then I can search them. In fact and box for
Google Groups them in a lovely way that I find convenient and easy to use.
I truly love the product and have bren a loyal usrr dince an early 2.x
build and I've stuck with it and watch it matured greatly.
TIA,
-pk

Thanks for the tips @LordNyriox it should help, I still haven't gotten
either "Stylish" plugin working with Firefox, maybe I will check dame in
Chrome, but honestly would prefer to NOT have to use the WebUI at all...
So I will look into the @suratovvlad fork and info too..
Thanks again.

I'm not a coder either, but #5076
<#5076> was a well-proven
PR. Lots of people used the fork @suratovvlad

I've updated my fork to upstream master, and make installer for windows 64bit (check releases of https://github.com/suratovvlad/qbittorrent-installer). Installer can works with Linux and MacOS, but I didn't build nor test it. Please, use, contribute and do whatever you want. |
It would be great to have a dark theme for windows. This is obviously not necessary for GNU with GTK but that isn't an option on Windows.
This feature already exists in the android app qBittorrent Client which I am really happy about.
