New Project Doesn't Work

I am trying to use ReactIDE on a mac with monterey, and it doesn't load the component bar. I also noticed it doesn't create a reactide.config.js file. I downloaded the dmg of the release. I am really struggling to troubleshoot this as the documentation doesn't give much to go on. When I enable the DevTools inside ReactIDE, it gives some javascript errors. Screens below. What else can I share to help?

I tried adding reactide to list of applications allowed to access the full disk in the privacy and settings preferences. doesnt seem to have made any difference.
