Text stuttering and covered by word count bar

When using the app in landscape mode, the current line gets covered up by the bar that shows word count and date - so you can't actually see what you're writing. Often, the text is visible for half a second but then gets covered up again - I believe the bar reappears whenever the writing gets saved.

The current line should be displayed below the bar when it appears, and the bar shouldn't be popping in and out of existence all the time.

Also, when typing any letter, the text quickly stutters down and back up a few pixels (so you can see the bottom pixels of the current line for a short moment, and any lines below that of course).

My phone can display two lines of text (three without the word count bar) in landscape mode, so lack of screen space should not be a problem.
