Preflight Checklist

  • I use the latest version of YouTube Music (Application).
  • I have searched the issue tracker for a feature request that matches the one I want to file, without success.

Problem Description

note: I totally missed that butterchurn was included initially, because my assumption was that it would naturally include some way to select which preset was to be used. The massive amount of scripts available is the main benefit of this particular visualizer imo. After realizing my mistake, I rejigged this feature request to reflect that.

It would be pretty cool if the presets for the butterchurn music visualizer could be selected,

Proposed Solution

Either a UI panel with a list view + import option for visualizer files, or at least a predefined folder where those files could be placed. Then clicking on the visualizer itself could switch to the next one in that location.

Alternatives Considered

A simpler approach might be to just have a selection dialog to pick from the various existing preset packs, such as those found on the ProjectM page https://github.com/projectM-visualizer/projectm?tab=readme-ov-file#presets
