I started to watch a video, and........ i saw advertising :-( Is there a new version, or will it be fixed? My version is web20210519_10_RC00 and installed on a fire tv stick 4k.

I too am having ads every 90 seconds I receive 2 ads. Continuously every 90 seconds. This just started on 5/27/21. Any help on this issue??? Version 6.17.739 installed on Firestick 4K USA

Where are y'all getting the version number of the app from?

@vopi61 Yours looks like the version of the TV's OS
@jmn1888 Yours looks more like it might be the Fire OS or you have a really old version of SmartYoutubeTV which is dead.

i got the version number in the app, under settings/appinfo. My TV's OS has a different version. My problem is
solved. A few days ago, smartyoutubetv autoupdated. Now everthing is ok.
I gave SmartTubeNext a try, but i like Smartyoutubetv better, because my subscribed channels are there all sorted under the channel-name.

That's odd about how you got the version number since, after looking again, what jmn1888 listed is the app's version number.
It's also odd that an kind of update fixed your problem. 6.17.739 is the last stable release, which was 8 days ago and the only note about the update is a change to the Readme.md

STN can sort by alphabetically too. Settings->User Interface->Channels section sorting
Now if you don't like the way it look after that you want just the channels to appear, then Settings->User Interface->Misc and select Revert old look of Channels section

Another reason why you want to give STN another try, if you didn't see this before, SponsorBlock. Enabling this can help skip past intros, outros and (as the name suggests) where the Youtuber might have to do an ad within the video. You can see how this can really help with channels like LinusTechTips.

Give it another shot and look at the Settings. You might not get it back to what SYTT is/was but you'll find it works just as well, if not better to some degree.

I did Install STN but in my opinion it is a huge downgrade:

• the GUI is HORRIBLE
• my searchs are not stored anymore (I don't want to Login into YouTube)
• the Sponsorblock skips content
