10 PCBs of the V1.1-RC1 icezum Alhambra board have been manufactured at PCBWay. 3 of them has been mounted by hand for testing purposes.

This version has been founded by our backers (100). Thanks a lot! :-)

Changes from V1.0:

  • TX/RX green leds added. Now there is a visual feedback when the FPGA is receiving or sending data through the serial port
  • CFG Programming led: A yellow led is turn on when the FPGA is being reconfigured
  • New pushbuttons: They have been changed by right angle pushbuttons. In addition, pull-down resistors have been added so there is no need to activate the internal FPGA pull-up resistors (It is now easier for the beginners to work with the buttons)
  • New reset circuit to get proper levels at pin "R" (Reset)
  • New test points scheme, accessible from top and bottom
  • Improved design in power control circuit avoids spurious switch-on on hot plug-in
  • Redesign of reverse polarity protection stage gets top performance on hot plug-in
  • Continuous short-circuit from 5V to GND is now allowed
  • Continuous short-circuit from 5V_P (peripherals supply) to GND is now allowed
  • Power-up ramp control on 5V_P (peripherals supply) allows to switch-on peripherals without resetting the board (up to 2200 uF capacitive load supported)
  • L4 ferrite reference modified for higher power capacity
  • Pin J5-8 was Pwr (Vin controlled by the power switch), now it is directly connected to Vin
  • LEDs colors modified: user LEDs now are green, power LED is blue

This version is stored in the v1.1-altium branch

The board has been created from the scratch using only Opensource tools:

  • PCB, esquematics: Migrated to Kicad (4.0.2)
  • 3D Models: Freecad (0.16)
  • Pinout: Inkscape (0.91)
  • BOM: LibreOffice (5.1.4.2)

This version belongs to our Technological Heritage. Anyone in the world can study this board, modify it and create derived work
