a brief usage of the prelimitary huawei version of erofs.mkfs:

erofs.mkfs [-zlz4hc] [-dX] [-hX] output.img indir
options:
  -zlz4hc   enable file compression with the lz4hc algorithm (default: no compression)
  -dX       set the debugging message level
  -hX       set the minimum reference count requirement of shared xattrs
